Microsoft Takes Action Amid Service Disruptions
Microsoft announced on Friday that it is actively addressing service disruptions affecting its users. “Our services are continuously improving as we implement mitigation actions,” the company shared on social media platform X.
In a notification titled “Service Degradation,” Microsoft informed users about potential difficulties in accessing various Microsoft 365 applications and services.
The announcement coincided with a significant IT outage in Australia, impacting the national broadcaster, the largest international airport, and a major telecommunications company.
Australia’s National Cyber Security Coordinator attributed the widespread outage to an issue with a “third-party software platform.”
During this time, some users could only access Microsoft 365 in read-only mode as Microsoft worked on resolving the issue. “We remain committed to treating this event with the highest priority and urgency while addressing the remaining impact on the degraded Microsoft 365 apps,” the company stated.
