On Tuesday, Wallen shared positive news about his health through his Instagram stories. Accompanied by a picture of himself seated on the back of his boat, surrounded by fishing poles, he wrote, “Also, the doc cleared me to talk and sing… we back.” Earlier, on May 9, he had announced the rescheduling of six weeks’ worth of shows due to a reinjury of his vocal cords during three recent performances. Wallen had expressed his disappointment through a video on Instagram.
The artist shared, “I received some unfavorable news from my doctors at the Vanderbilt Voice Center yesterday. After ten days of vocal rest, I performed three shows in Florida over the weekend, and by the third show, I felt terrible. So I went in for an examination yesterday, and they informed me that I had reinjured my vocal cords, resulting in vocal fold trauma. They advised me to observe six weeks of vocal rest, and that’s what I’ll be doing.”
While doctors advised him not to speak at all for vocal rest, Wallen received permission to communicate with his fans.
He later added, “I also experienced a torn LAT while in Australia, which I have been quietly working through. This time off will help me recover from that as well. We are in the process of rescheduling all the shows during this period. We have almost completed the arrangements, although some are still pending. I will keep you updated. Unfortunately, I won’t be able to perform at the festivals scheduled during this time, but we will make it up next year.”
Wallen assured fans that tickets purchased for the original dates would remain valid for the rescheduled performances. Initially, he had canceled a concert in Oxford, Mississippi, moments before he was expected to take the stage on April 23.
