Police in Zimbabwe has confirmed the arrest of a son of the late President Robert Mugabe for “malicious damage to property”.

Police said in a tweet that the arrest was made in response to a complaint that Robert Mugabe Junior had allegedly destroyed property worth $12,000 (£10,000) at a home in Harare’s suburbs.

Nkatazo Sindiso, a friend of the 31-year-old, filed the complaint against him.

ZimLive tweeted a video of him arriving at a Harare magistrate’s court to face charges of damaging vehicles and other property during a weekend party.
