President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has made the decision to relieve Dr. John Ofori Tenkorang of his duties as Director-General of the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT).

In a letter issued by Nana Bediatuo Asante, the Executive Secretary to the President, Dr. Tenkorang has been instructed to hand over his responsibilities to Kofi Bosompem Osafo-Maafo by Monday, April 15, 2024.

The letter referred to Dr. Tenkorang’s appointment letter dated 1st July 2019, issued by the Public Services Commission. It stated that, as per paragraph 8 of the appointment letter, the President has decided to terminate his appointment effective April 15, 2024, providing three months’ salary in lieu of notice.

Dr. Tenkorang is directed to facilitate a smooth transition by handing over his office to Mr. Kofi Bosompem Osafo-Maafo and to proceed to collect any terminal benefits he may be entitled to.

To ensure an orderly handover process, Dr. Tenkorang is requested to cease acting as the Director-General of SSNIT by the close of business on Monday, April 15, 2024. The President expressed gratitude for Dr. Tenkorang’s service to the nation and extended his best wishes for the future.
