Former president John Dramani Mahama has stated that the extensive campaign he ran before the National Democratic Congress (NDC)’s presidential and parliamentary primaries gave him the chance to learn about the difficulties the entire nation would face if he were to win the presidency.
Mr. Mahama emphasized that issues with the agricultural industry, cocoa, and other areas needed to be resolved.

“Dr Duffuor withdrew at the last minute when he saw that it was going to be a tsunami, but if he hadn’t filed and it was unopposed it would not have compelled us to do the rounds that we did,” he said on Sunday, May 21, following his victory in last week’s presidential primaries of the NDC to run as the NDC’s presidential candidate in the 2024 elections. When we completed those rounds, I observed our delegates and the enthusiasm and intensity with which they attended the event we visited.

“We thank God once more that our colleagues participated in the primaries,” said the speaker, “because I believe that exercise in going around really helped the party because it has shaped the party base and prepared the party and made it ready for what we were going to confront in 2024.”
