Nigeria and Nigerians had an impressive showing at the 2024 Confederation of African Football (CAF) Awards, taking home several key accolades at the event held on Monday night in Marrakesh, Morocco. The CAF Awards celebrate football excellence and outstanding achievements across the continent, recognizing both individual and team brilliance.

Ademola Lookman was the standout performer of the night, winning the prestigious CAF Men’s Footballer of the Year award after a stellar season with both club and country. His contributions on the pitch made a significant impact, earning him this well-deserved honor.

In the women’s category, Zambia’s Barbra Banda clinched the CAF Women’s Footballer of the Year award. Nigeria also saw success in other key areas, including the Goalkeeper of the Year award, which went to Chiamaka Nnadozie, as well as recognition in the National Team of the Year category and representation in the Best XI for both men’s and women’s teams.
