The Miss Universe 2025 pageant is set to shine in Thailand, with Bangkok hosting the seventy-fourth edition of the prestigious competition. Contestants from 120 countries will gather on 21 November 2025 at the Impact Challenger Hall in Nonthaburi, ready to compete for the coveted crown.

Nigeria’s representative, Onyinyechi Basil, is a 25-year-old biochemistry graduate with a deep passion for maternal healthcare. Her advocacy journey began after the tragic loss of her brother, which inspired her to launch Nwanyi Bu Ife, an initiative dedicated to improving access to maternal care across Nigeria. Building on this work, she also founded the Reach Moms Initiative, providing rural women with hospital access, childbirth education, and essential support for safe pregnancies.

Growing up in a modest apartment with her father, Onyinyechi often reflects on her early life as a reminder that ambition can thrive even in challenging circumstances. Her personal story and advocacy form a central part of her Miss Universe platform, allowing her to highlight critical issues in women’s health on a global stage.

This year, Victoria Kjær Theilvig of Denmark will pass the crown to her successor. As Nigeria’s contender, Onyinyechi not only represents beauty and grace but also brings international awareness to the challenges faced by expectant mothers in underserved communities. Her mission goes beyond the pageant, showing that empowerment, advocacy, and compassion can leave a lasting impact.
