It is currently pouring heavily in Abuja, the capital, for the first time this year, signaling the official end of voting.

Those who are superstitious are reading meanings into the rain, while those who remained at polling places for the ballot sorting have scurried for cover.

It’s been an exciting day, with security concerns and logistical issues blamed for voting delays people are still queuing in certain parts of the country.

Several photos, such as the bride voting in her bridal gown, capture the enthusiasm of young voters:
During violence at a polling location in Lagos state, a woman was stabbed but afterwards returned to vote with her stitched up face to acclaim from other voters.
All eyes will now be on the central collation center in Abuja, where the results from hundreds of thousands of voting stations will be sent a long process.
The outcome of the most contested presidential election since the end of military rule will now be watched with bated breath.
