Shemar Moore, best known for his roles on CBS’ “Criminal Minds” and “S.W.A.T.,” has announced the birth of his first child at the age of 52.
Moore broke the news to his Instagram followers on Monday in a video. In the video, the actor expressed “butterflies” as he was about to learn the child’s gender.

Moore and his girlfriend, Jesiree Dizon, discovered they were expecting a girl after a helicopter released a trail of pink smoke. Moore also revealed that the child’s due date is Feb. 8, which is also the three-year anniversary of his mother’s death, according to Entertainment Tonight.
Moore expressed concern that his chance to be a father had passed him by in an interview with Jennifer Hudson, which is set to air in its entirety later this month. “God had my back, and everything fell into place,” Moore said. “My life is pretty spectacular, but I know that if God ever calls my name, I’ll be able to go to heaven whole.”
