Internet access remains largely disrupted across Sudan as fighting between the army and paramilitary forces enters its second week, according to the NetBlocks organization.

“Sudan remains largely offline in the midst of an internet blackout,” the cybersecurity monitor said in a statement on Monday.

It cited military allegations that the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces allegedly sabotaged the telecom exchange in Khartoum early Monday, disrupting the country’s networks.

Residents of Khartoum, on the other hand, claim that phone service is still operational.

A civilian network, primarily organized on Twitter, has been providing updates on the fighting, particularly information on available aid and safe escape routes.

As a result of the fighting in the country, a number of countries have evacuated their diplomats from the country.
