Suge Knight’s story is being adapted for television.

According to reports, the infamous Death Row Records co-founder is working on a TV series based on his life. The biographical project, according to TMZ, will have a similar feel to 50 Cent’s “BMF,” focusing on Suge’s early days as a kid growing up in Compton with dreams of becoming a football coach.

Suge is co-creating the show with his brother, Brian Brown, and production is set to begin this summer.

The rap mogul, who is serving a 28-year sentence for the 2015 murder of Terry Carter, is said to be very involved in choosing a director and casting actors, including Tupac Shakur.

Suge founded Death Row Records with Dr. Dre, The D.O.C., and Dick Griffey in 1992. With a roster that included Snoop, Dre, Tupac, Nate Dogg, and Warren G, it went on to become one of the most influential labels of all time.

Snoop acquired Death Row from MNRK Music Group in early 2022. The legendary label’s catalog, which included Snoop’s Doggystyle and Tupac’s All Eyez on Me, was removed from streaming services following the sale before being reinstated this month.

Suge has never told his life story before, but he has been portrayed in films such as the N.W.A biopic Straight Outta Compton in 2015 and the Tupac biopic All Eyez on Me in 2017.

Snoop is also collaborating with director Allen Hughes on his own biopic for Universal Pictures (Menace II Society, Dead Presidents). It will be the first film produced by Snoop’s Death Row Pictures and will feature music from his catalog.
