Tems continues to blaze trails, and Sunday night was no exception. The Nigerian singer and Grammy winner made history as the first African artist to perform at the FIFA Club World Cup Final Halftime Show.

The event took place at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey during the 2025 tournament’s final, and Tems shared the stage with international stars Doja Cat and J Balvin. Surprise appearances by Coldplay and Emmanuel Kelly only added to the magic of the night.

The 15-minute show, co-produced by FIFA and Global Citizen, opened with J Balvin’s electrifying hits, followed by Tems delivering her Grammy-winning anthem “Love Me JeJe” with signature grace and soul. Doja Cat turned up the energy with “Woman,” while Coldplay brought it all home with “A Sky Full of Stars,” joined by Emmanuel Kelly in a moving finale.

Tems’ performance was met with thunderous applause from the 81,000-strong crowd, a blend of music lovers and football fans. Though she’s yet to speak publicly about the night, this milestone adds to a string of high-profile moments—from gracing the Met Gala to scoring features on major film soundtracks.

As for the match, Chelsea stole the spotlight with a commanding 3-0 win over Paris Saint-Germain. Cole Palmer delivered two goals and set up another for Joao Pedro—all before halftime. PSG, despite their recent triumph in Europe, couldn’t bounce back and ended the match with ten men following João Neves’ red card.

Among the attendees were former U.S. President Donald Trump and Melania Trump, underscoring the global pull of the night.

With this win, Chelsea became the first-ever champions of the expanded 32-team Club World Cup, capping off a standout season that also included a UEFA Conference League trophy and a top-four Premier League finish.

Tems didn’t just perform—she made a statement. And the world watched.
