Mexican actor Tenoch Huerta denies sexual assault allegations made by musician María Elena Ríos.

In a statement posted on his Instagram stories, Huerta addresses the allegations as “false and completely unsubstantiated.” He explains that he had a consensual and loving relationship with Ríos, which was misrepresented after it ended. Huerta asserts that he has taken legal action to protect his reputation and refute the damaging accusations. While acknowledging his imperfections, he maintains that the allegations are untrue and offensive.

Ríos, a Mexican saxophonist and feminist activist, had accused Huerta of being a “sexual predator” on Twitter. She shared her experiences of emotional abuse and the abuse of power by someone admired for their role in a popular movie. Ríos disclosed her fear of reporting the abuse due to potential disbelief and faced vitriolic messages after making the accusations public.

The situation highlights the complexities of addressing such allegations and the power dynamics involved. Both Huerta and Ríos present contrasting perspectives, emphasizing the need for a thorough and fair examination of the matter.
