According to Bloomberg, the UK’s Westminster Abbey will host the coronation of King Charles III on June 3, 2023.

According to palace sources, plans are being made to have the ceremony on that particular day, but nothing is finalized as yet.

According to reports, Charles’ ceremony would be much smaller and more simple than past ones, in contrast to his mother’s.

Despite the fact that Charles took the throne two days after Queen Elizabeth II passed away in June of old age, his reign as a king will officially begin that month. Along with him, Camilla Parker-Bowles will be anointed as Queen Consort.

Charles will then become the oldest monarch in British history, having turned 74 by the time of the coronation.

According to tradition, the new king will sit on the throne known as The Coronation Chair while wielding the scepter and rod of the sovereign, which symbolizes his constitutional sovereignty over the country, and the orb of the sovereign, which symbolizes the Christian world.

Charles will receive the St. Edward’s crown, which will formally establish him as King, after being anointed with oil, blessed, and consecrated by senior clergy.

Then, from the balcony of Buckingham Palace, King and the Queen Consort will address the country.

Prior to addressing the privy council on September 10, Charles was formally recognized as the monarch of the UK and the Commonwealth.

In part, he added, “My mother’s rule was unparalleled in terms of time, dedication, and devotion. Even though we are in mourning, we are grateful for this devoted life. I am fully conscious of this significant inheritance as well as the obligations and significant responsibilities of sovereignty that have been transferred to me.
