Media personality Toke Makinwa recently celebrated her 40th birthday in Lagos, using the occasion to clarify rumors about a secret marriage. Speculation had circulated on social media, particularly after a viral video surfaced showing her and entertainment mogul Farouk Umar sharing intimate moments at the Oriental Hotel.
However, Toke was quick to set the record straight at her birthday party, emphasizing that Farouk is simply a close friend who has supported her through tough times. She humorously addressed the rumors, saying, “On Obasanjo’s internet, they said I got married to this guy. This guy is my best friend. Listen, on Toke Makinwa’s internet, they said I married Farouk. Farouk is my brother; he held me down when there was nobody.”
During her heartfelt speech, Toke reflected on her past marriage to Maje Ayida, which ended in divorce in 2017 due to infidelity.
