Last night, Kanye West and Ty Dolla Sign hosted a much-anticipated listening event at Miami’s Wynwood Marketplace, unveiling their collaborative project titled Vultures, slated for release later this week.

The event featured a star-studded lineup, with appearances from Offset, Freddie Gibbs, Lil Durk, Kodak Black, Chris Brown, and even North West. Other notable artists set to feature on the album include Nicki Minaj in “New Body,” Lil Baby in “Everybody,” Future in “Paid,” as well as contributions from Young Thug, Quavo, and Playboi Carti.

One of the standout moments of the evening was when North West, the 10-year-old daughter of Kanye, took the stage to perform a verse. The song also featured James Blake, fueling rumors of a collaboration between Kanye and the British musician. North confidently rapped, “I love it here, we gonna take over the year for another year/ It’s your bestie, Miss Miss Westie/ Don’t try to test me, it’s gonna get messy/ It’s gonna get messy, just, just bless me.” This isn’t North’s first foray into the world of rap, as she previously debuted her skills during Kanye’s YEEZY SZN 8 show at Paris Fashion Week in 2020.

However, amidst the memorable moments, Kanye’s choice of attire raised eyebrows online. The rapper donned a pointed black hood, reminiscent of the white hoods worn by the Ku Klux Klan, which stirred controversy. A similar outfit had appeared in his “Black Skinhead” music video.

Notably, Kanye addressed past controversies in the album, including his previous wear of a White Lives Matter shirt and anti-Semitic comments. In one line from “Vultures,” he responds to the backlash with, “How I’m anti-Semitic? I just fked a Jewish bch.”

Post-event, a countdown appeared on Kanye’s official website, potentially hinting at the imminent release of the album. The timer is set to conclude at 7 p.m. ET.

Vultures marks Kanye’s first official project since 2021’s Donda. Meanwhile, Ty Dolla Sign’s most recent project was Cheers to the Best Memories with dvsn, also released in 2021.
