Messages cannot now be sent or received on WhatsApp by users.
The WhatsApp outage was discovered a few minutes after 8:00 on Tuesday (WAT).
Sending messages to groups has been made impossible by the outage, while personal messages only show one tick, indicating that they have been sent but not received.
Over 80,000 complaints about the outage, according to DownDetector, an online platform that offers customers real-time information on the health of numerous websites and services.
