Yahaya Bello Quietly Weds Fourth Wife in Abuja

Former Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, has taken a new bride—his fourth. The low-key wedding took place quietly over the weekend in the Kubwa area of Abuja, with only close friends, family, and trusted associates in attendance.

The new addition to the family, 23-year-old Hiqma, was welcomed into the household with no public fanfare or elaborate celebration.

The news broke when Bello’s third wife, Hafiza, shared a warm message on Instagram, confirming the marriage and introducing Hiqma as the newest member of their growing family.

“Alhamdulillah, our family just got a little bigger and more loving!” she wrote. “A warm welcome to our new family member, Mrs. Hiqma Yahaya Bello. May Allah bless our union and fill our home with love, peace, and Barakah. Amin!”

Yahaya Bello, 50, who led Kogi State from 2016 to 2024, is already married to three women: Amina Oyiza, Rashidat, and Hafiza. His first wife, Amina, is known for her legal career and her humanitarian work through the Hayat Foundation, which focuses on supporting vulnerable communities in Kogi.

Meanwhile, the former governor continues to battle legal issues, as he faces allegations of money laundering amounting to over N80 billion, brought against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
