Facebook Reels is catching up to Instagram Reels… which is catching up to TikTok.

TikTok increased the maximum length of a video post from three to ten minutes last year. Instagram Reels followed suit, increasing its maximum length from 60 seconds to 90 seconds in June 2022. Meta is also introducing new creative tools for Facebook Reels creators, all of which were previously available for Instagram Reels, leading some to believe that Meta tested the changes first on Instagram Reels before bringing them to Facebook Reels.
