YouTuber Declines Invitation to Join Ill-Fated Titanic Submarine Expedition.

In a recent tweet, the popular YouTuber shared a text message that hinted at an invitation to embark on what he referred to as “the titanic submarine.” However, he did not provide specific details about the submarine’s name or the sender of the text message, as the screenshot only displayed a blue iMessage bubble.

The message itself read, “Also, I’m going to the Titanic in a submarine later this month. The team would be stoked to have you along.” Despite the intriguing offer, the YouTuber, who boasts over 160 million subscribers, stated in his tweet that he declined the invitation.

Expressing his thoughts, he added, “Kind of scary that I could have been on it.” The exact reasons for his decision were not disclosed.

Representatives for the YouTuber have not yet responded to requests for comment from Insider, leaving fans curious about his perspective on the matter.

Tragically, the OceanGate Titan, the submarine mentioned in the text message, suffered a “catastrophic implosion” while descending to the Titanic wreckage site. This devastating incident resulted in the presumed deaths of all five individuals on board, including OceanGate CEO Stockton Rush.

In light of this tragedy, others who were also offered the opportunity to join the ill-fated submarine trip have come forward to share their experiences. Some have cited safety concerns as the primary reason for declining the offer.

Jay Bloom, a financier from Las Vegas, revealed in a Facebook post that he turned down a discounted offer from Stockton Rush to be part of the ill-fated journey. According to Bloom, Rush attempted to downplay his safety concerns, which ultimately reinforced his decision.

Additionally, British actor Ross Kemp had initially planned to film a documentary about the Titan. However, his production company deemed the submarine “not fit for purpose,” resulting in the cancellation of the project, as confirmed by his agent to BBC News.

These accounts shed light on the series of events surrounding the doomed Titanic submarine expedition, highlighting the safety apprehensions that led many to decline participation.
