Zimbabwe and Belarus have signed agricultural and defense treaties. This includes a deal to supply the southern African country with tractors worth $60 million (£49 million).
President Alexander Lukashenko, a key Russian ally, said during a visit to Harare that relations between the two countries had improved as a result of the western sanctions they both face.
Mr. Lukashenko charged that the West was using economic sanctions to oppress both countries. Zimbabwe has remained neutral since Russia invaded Ukraine nearly a year ago.
