Tom Brady, the American football quarterback, has announced his retirement after a stellar 23-year career in the National Football League (NFL).
Brady announced his retirement on December 31, 2022, but six weeks later reversed his decision, claiming he had “unfinished business,” according to BBC Sport.
The 45-year-old won six Super Bowls with the New England Patriots and will play in the 2021 season for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
He made the announcement, however, on Wednesday morning.
Brady announced his retirement in an emotional video posted on social media. “I know the process was a big deal last time, so when I woke up this morning, I figured I’d just press record and let you guys know first.
“I won’t go on and on. I used up my one super-emotional retirement essay last year.
“I want to thank everyone who has helped me, including my family, friends, teammates, and competitors. I could go on and on because there are so many.
“Thank you for giving me the opportunity to live my absolute dream. I’m not going to change anything. “I love you all.”
