Britney Spears Shares Encounter with Victor Wembanyama and Raises Awareness about Respectful Behavior.

Britney Spears recently opened up about an incident involving NBA draft pick Victor Wembanyama, where she claims to have been assaulted by a security guard. Taking to Twitter, the pop star recounted the events that unfolded during her encounter with Wembanyama in a Las Vegas hotel lobby and later at a restaurant in a different hotel.

Spears explained that she recognized Wembanyama and wanted to offer her congratulations on his achievements. However, when she tried to get his attention by tapping him on the shoulder, she alleged that the security guard accompanying Wembanyama forcefully struck her in the face without even looking back, all in front of a crowd. The impact was so strong that it nearly knocked her over and caused her glasses to fall off.

In response to the incident, Wembanyama, who was recently drafted by the San Antonio Spurs, spoke to reporters and stated that someone had grabbed him from behind as he was walking down a hallway. He mentioned that security promptly intervened and pushed the person away, but he did not witness the actual altercation as he was instructed not to stop to prevent a gathering of people around him. Wembanyama admitted that he only learned about Spears’ involvement hours later and was unaware of the level of force used.

Spears directly addressed Wembanyama’s account, refuting the claim that she had grabbed him from behind. According to her, she simply tapped him on the shoulder.

Expressing disappointment with the behavior of the security guards, Spears pointed out that she often deals with a swarm of fans, including on that particular night, and her security team never resorts to violence against them.

The Las Vegas Police Department confirmed that they responded to a battery incident in the area during that time, although further details were not provided. No arrests were made, and no citations were issued.

Spears acknowledged feeling embarrassed about the situation but decided to share her story as a way to encourage public figures to set a positive example and treat others with respect. She emphasized that physical violence occurs far too frequently, often behind closed doors, and expressed solidarity with all victims.

As of now, neither Wembanyama, the security guard involved, nor the Spurs have publicly apologized to Spears for the incident.
