As people struggle to obtain the new banknotes, angry protests have broken out across Africa’s largest economy. Customers in the southern Nigerian cities of Warri and Benin City allegedly set fire to two commercial banks.
Nigerians have faced long lines at cash machines, with some sleeping outside banks to be the first in line.
