Nigerian Chef and entrepreneur, Hilda Effiong Baci, has stirred up discussions with her remarks comparing Nigerian and Ghanaian men in a widely circulated podcast. In the podcast, Hilda suggested that deep down, Ghanaian women prefer to settle with Nigerian men over their Ghanaian counterparts.

The former Guinness World Record breaker confidently asserted that an influx of Nigerian men in Ghana could potentially lead to Ghanaian men struggling to find partners.

“Ask 20 Ghanaian women if they will marry Ghanaian men. Put Nigerian men and Ghanaian men side by side and see who they will pick. Ghanaian women marry Ghanaians because that is what is in their forefront. When we send some Nigerian men to Ghana, the men over there won’t get wives,” she candidly stated during a conversation with UK Ghanaian men.

However, her statements faced significant criticism from Ghanaian Twitter users who countered her perspective. Many asserted that most Nigerian men in Ghana are not perceived as ‘trophies’ as she suggested. According to some netizens, Ghanaian women find Nigerian men unappealing, often engaging in menial jobs such as selling phone covers.

In addition to her views on relationships, Hilda Baci also expressed her opinion on the ongoing Jollof rice debate, declaring Nigerian Jollof as the best. She confidently stated that after tasting Ghana Jollof, she believes it doesn’t match up to the flavor of Nigerian Jollof.
