The important witness, who was once closest friends with Megan Thee Stallion, suddenly seemed to have little memory of the event, which amounted to a crazy day in court.

When the prosecution put Kelsey Nicole Harris on the witness stand on Wednesday, she immediately asked for immunity in the case and was granted it in exchange for her testimony. Harris was the other lady in the car with Tory Lanez and MTS when they were shot in 2020.

Despite this, Kelsey turned out to be a very difficult witness under direct examination. She often attempted to use her 5th Amendment rights and frequently questioned the court about whether she was required to respond to particular questions.

She categorically stated during her sworn testimony on Wednesday that she DID NOT shoot Megan Thee Stallion, disproving the defense’s claim that she was capable of doing so.

Now, it’s unclear who she claims fired the shot. Even though it was played back recordings of Kelsey expressing exactly that in September, she afterward seemed to retract her claim that Tory had ever threatened to shoot her (Kelsey) and claimed that the sworn statements she had made to investigators in the run-up to this trial weren’t totally accurate.

Although Kelsey has not done so yet, the prosecution’s case may suffer as a result. It is evident that the prosecution intended her to blame Tory.

Of course, there’s another angle to take on this: if Kelsey is claiming responsibility for the shooting, and the driver hasn’t been implicated in any way, one would conclude that Tory Lanez is the only person remaining who could have fired the shots.
Time will tell how all of this affects the jury, but so far, there has been a lot of commotion created in just the first three days of the trial. And it’s still far from being over.
