Manchester City has allegedly been accused of breaking financial rules and could face points deducted or even expulsion from the Premier League.

According to TalkSport, the Premier League has charged Pep Guardiola’s side with more than 100 charges since the release of the statement in 2009/10.

The Premier League conducted a four-year investigation into the finances of Manchester United.
If found guilty of the charges, the Etihad outfit could face a variety of penalties, including a points penalty or even expulsion.

The club is accused of violating league rules that require “accurate financial information that gives a true and fair view of the club’s financial position” to be provided “in the utmost good faith.”

The Premier League stated that the correct financial information was required for “revenue (including sponsorship revenue), related parties, and operating costs.”

Manchester City’s second set of alleged violations involves alleged violations of rules that “require a member club to include full details of manager remuneration in its relevant contracts with its manager.”

This relates to the seasons 2009/10 to 2012/13 when Roberto Mancini was the club’s manager.

These violations also include the requirement for a club to include full details of player remuneration in relevant contracts from 2010/11 to 2015/16.

There are also allegations of violations related to failure to comply with UEFA Financial Fair Play regulations from 2013/14 to 2017/18.
