Olivia Yacé has revealed a major update about her Miss Universe journey, and the news is already stirring conversations online. The Ivorian beauty queen has announced that she is stepping down from her Miss Universe Africa & Oceania title, a crown she earned after finishing as 4th Runner-Up at Miss Universe 2025.

She shared the update through a statement on Instagram, where she reflected on her experience and the principles behind her decision.

“As the representative of Côte d’Ivoire at Miss Universe 2025 in Bangkok, I learned that I could rise above challenges and achieve remarkable things. But to keep moving forward, I must stay aligned with my values—respect, dignity, excellence, and equal opportunity. These guide everything I do,” she wrote.

“With gratitude and deep respect, I announce my resignation from the title of Miss Universe Africa and Oceania, as well as from any future affiliation with the Miss Universe Committee.”

Olivia also revisited the message she delivered on stage during the Q&A segment:

“My biggest dream is to serve as an example for the younger generation, especially young girls. I want them to stretch beyond their fears, step boldly into spaces where they feel out of place, and celebrate who they are with pride.”

She extended a heartfelt message to Black, African, Caribbean, American, and Afro-descendant communities:
“Keep walking into spaces where others do not expect you… Our presence counts, and our voices deserve to be heard.”

In closing, Olivia congratulated the new Miss Universe, sent words of support to Miss Universe Jamaica, and thanked everyone who stood by her throughout the journey.

“It’s time for Africa,” she ended.

During the Miss Universe 2025 competition, Olivia left a lasting impression with her articulate Q&A response. When asked how she would use the role to inspire young girls, she said:

“As an ambassador and as Miss Universe, I want to represent a new generation—one that blends cultures, modernity, and tradition. I want to embody a new era of bold, confident women who lead without apology. I want young girls to know they can do the same. Walk into those rooms where you feel you don’t belong; shine, and fully embrace who you are.”
