Spotify Considers Adding Full-Length Music Videos to App.

According to Bloomberg News, Spotify Technology is contemplating the idea of incorporating full-length music videos into its app. This potential move aims to position the music streaming platform as a competitor to TikTok and YouTube, which are popular for short-form videos.

Currently, Spotify allows artists to upload looping GIFs that play alongside their music tracks. However, the addition of full-length music videos could take the user experience to a whole new level. The company has reportedly initiated discussions with partners to explore this possibility.

By embracing music videos, Spotify hopes to attract more Gen Z audiences, competing with YouTube and TikTok’s video-centric platforms. YouTube already offers a music streaming service called YouTube Music, featuring music videos.

In recent times, Spotify announced its plan to cut 200 jobs from its podcast unit in a restructuring effort following significant investment over the years. As the company evolves, it seeks to remain relevant and competitive in the ever-changing landscape of digital media and entertainment.
