Tamale International Airport’s Phase 2 Ready for Inauguration.

Blinkscoop News reports that the long-awaited inauguration of the Tamale International Airport’s Phase 2 project is set to take place this month. With an estimated cost of 70 million dollars, the completion of this significant project was initially expected in August of the previous year. Now, after a year of hard work, test runs are currently underway in preparation for the much-anticipated commissioning.

During the test runs, passengers traveling to Tamale were pleasantly surprised to experience the all-new Phase 2 terminal, built with the massive investment. Excitement filled the air as travelers recognized the potential this facility holds for opening up the Northern region of Ghana to substantial developments.

One of the first passengers to utilize the new terminal expressed their happiness, stating that the soon-to-be-operational airport will undoubtedly pave the way for tremendous growth and opportunities in the area. Another passenger echoed this sentiment, eagerly anticipating the airport’s full functionality and the employment opportunities it will bring for the residents.

Alhaji Shanai Alhassan Shaibu, the Northern Regional Minister, confidently declared during a meet-the-press event in September 2022 that Phase II work of the Tamale International Airport was completed and awaiting its official commissioning. He expressed his optimism, anticipating that many locals would benefit from employment opportunities as the region’s economic gains were expected to soar.

The new Tamale International Airport features a modular terminal building spanning approximately 5,000 square meters, along with essential facilities like a Hajj center, a single carriageway access road, and water, power, and sewerage infrastructure to ensure smooth operations. With the inauguration on the horizon, the Northern region is poised for growth and progress, thanks to this remarkable development in aviation infrastructure.
