Aston Villa announced on Tuesday that manager Unai Emery has signed a contract extension until 2027, marking a significant commitment to the Premier League club.

Since taking over from Steven Gerrard in November 2022, Emery has led Aston Villa from a relegation battle to the verge of Champions League qualification, showcasing his impressive managerial skills.

Currently positioned fourth in the Premier League table, Aston Villa holds a six-point lead over fifth-placed Tottenham, with two games in hand. Additionally, the team is set to compete in the Europa Conference League semi-finals against Olympiakos, aiming to clinch their first European trophy since 1982.

Despite recent speculation linking Emery to other top European clubs, the 52-year-old Spaniard expressed his dedication to Aston Villa, citing a shared vision with the club’s owners, Nassef Sawiris and Wes Edens.

“We are enjoying our journey together with Villa fans, the club owners, management, and this talented group of players,” Emery stated. “We must maintain our hard-working spirit, make smart decisions, and collaborate closely with the ownership to further develop this football club.”

Chairman Sawiris echoed Emery’s sentiments, expressing excitement about building a strong sporting operation around the manager to propel Aston Villa back to its historic levels of success as the club approaches its 150th anniversary.
