Victor Moses, the former Nigeria international, has made a surprising comeback to English football, signing with Luton Town after their relegation from the Premier League. At 33, Moses joins the Championship side as a free agent, following his departure from Spartak Moscow earlier this summer, much to the excitement of Luton fans and management.
Moses, who was with Chelsea from 2012 to 2021, initially joined Luton on a trial basis, where he impressed the coaching staff during training and a behind-closed-doors match. His performance convinced Luton’s manager, Rob Edwards, to offer him a contract, which the winger eagerly accepted.

Speaking on Moses’ addition, Edwards expressed his delight, saying, “Victor has been on our radar for a while. He trained with us last week, played 60 minutes in a closed-door game, and we could see he has what it takes to strengthen the squad. His versatility, playing on either wing or as a number ten, brings a lot to the team.”
However, Edwards stressed the need to give Moses time to adjust to the team’s playing style, adding, “We won’t rush him into starting right away. He needs to get familiar with how we operate, but he’s fit and ready to contribute, which will undoubtedly boost our squad.”
Moses, who has vast experience from his time at Chelsea, where he helped secure the Premier League title in 2017, and Inter Milan’s Serie A victory in 2020 under Antonio Conte, is expected to make a notable impact. With stints in Turkey, Russia, and 38 appearances for Nigeria’s Super Eagles, his return to English football marks a new chapter in his impressive career.
