Nigerian Afrobeat star Ahmed Ololade, popularly known as Asake, recently shared his thoughts on why he exclusively uses Yoruba in his music. During an Instagram Live session, a fan inquired about his choice to sing in his native language rather than English.

Asake explained that while he is capable of singing in English, he feels most at ease expressing himself in Yoruba. He candidly added that if listeners don’t connect with his music in Yoruba, they are free to move on.

He stated, “I’m more comfortable singing in Yoruba; it’s not that I can’t sing in English. If you vibe with me, vibe with me in my Yoruba. If not, then move along.”
