For the time being, we are one big happy family. Nick Cannon is speaking out about how his oldest children feel about having so many siblings.
The Masked Singer host appeared on the Howie Mandel Does Stuff podcast, where he discussed what his 11-year-old twins, Moroccan and Monroe, whom he shares with ex-wife Mariah Carey, think about Cannon’s 10 other children from various relationships.
“At this point, they’re enjoying it,” Cannon explained. “They have the most fun, and they’re the oldest.”
“But who knows where that will go when 16 hits?” he continued.
The twins will turn 12 on April 30, and Cannon explained how, as one might expect, the nature of their relationship has evolved as the children have grown older.
“This is my first time having 12-year-olds, and I have a bunch!” And we’re having genuine conversations,” he revealed. “Because, you know, their lives are anything but normal.” Their mother is one of the most famous entertainers of all time, and their father is me.”
“They’re so intelligent, they’re so in tune with their own values,” the proud father said of his twins, adding that as a result, they’ve begun to “have challenging conversations sometimes.”
This includes discussions about their siblings, as well as some of the controversies that have surrounded Cannon over the last decade.
“One thing they do know is that dad f**ks up,” Cannon admitted. “[They know] Dad makes mistakes.”
Apart from his twins with Carey, Cannon has Rise, 5 months, Powerful, 2 months, and Golden, 6 months with Brittany Bell; Beautiful, 3 months, Zion and Zillion, both 1, with Abby De La Rosa; Halo, 2 months, and the late Zen with Alyssa Scott; Legendary, 7 months, with Bre Tiesi; and Onyx, 5 months, with LaNisha Cole.
When asked if there are any more on the way, Cannon said that he wasn’t expecting any new babies right now, but he didn’t know what the future held in the long run. And, despite criticism and concern, he is more than capable of balancing his family and emotional commitments.
“I think I’m a man of abundance,” Cannon admitted. “Everything is difficult, but the fact that I get to see all of my children in one day and that I get to see them every day when I’m in town, and even when I’m not in town, I take them with me, makes it all worthwhile.” “I enjoy a good challenge.”
For the time being, however, Cannon stated, “I’m good with my dozen.”
