The UK’s National Crime Agency (NCA) has denied two letters circulating among Nigerian social media users regarding the alleged activities of presidential candidate Bola Tinubu.
According to the agency, the two letters were forgeries.
The first letter surfaced on Twitter in late January, purportedly in response to an inquiry to the agency about Mr. Tinubu’s alleged activities.

Twitter users in the country viewed it hundreds of thousands of times.
When the letter was brought to their attention, the NCA said that it had been denied.
The second letter “challenged” the first letter.
It appeared that the NCA was threatening legal action against a rival presidential campaign team, claiming that the first letter was forged.
