Elon Musk revealed that his highly anticipated interview with Donald Trump on Monday was disrupted by a major cyber attack on his social media platform, X.
Musk posted, “We’re dealing with a massive DDOS attack on X right now. We’re working to resolve it.”
Despite having voted Democrat in the past, Musk has shown strong support for Trump, especially after a recent assassination attempt on the former president at a rally.
Trump, who was banned from Twitter after the January 2021 Capitol riot, was reinstated by Musk when he acquired and rebranded the platform.
The Monday interview was meant to boost Trump’s struggling campaign, which has struggled since President Biden’s exit from the race. The disruption is a setback for both Musk and Trump.
Musk assured that they had tested the system with 8 million concurrent listeners earlier in the day and promised to host the conversation with a smaller audience, sharing the unedited audio later.
