Tems is the first Nigerian musician to be nominated for an Oscar for her work on Rihanna’s song Lift Me Up, which appears on the Wakanda Forever soundtrack. It’s the latest honor for the singer-songwriter, who has previously been nominated for a Golden Globe and a Grammy.
This time, her writing is up for an award, alongside Ryan Coogler, Ludwig Göransson, and Rihanna. Tems has yet to publicly comment on the news, but fans have been congratulating her on social media.
