Despite all the buzz surrounding Victor Osimhen’s future, Manchester United have yet to make a serious move for the Nigerian striker.

Osimhen is reportedly eager to leave Napoli for good this summer and has made it clear he has no intention of playing under new manager Antonio Conte. While Napoli would prefer to keep him, especially after his impressive loan spell at Galatasaray, Osimhen appears to have other plans.

The 26-year-old forward is believed to be pushing for a permanent return to the Turkish side, where he could reportedly earn up to €16 million per season. That’s a big jump—even by Premier League standards—and it’s a major reason top clubs have hesitated.

Manchester United had been floated as one of the key clubs monitoring his situation, particularly as they continue to struggle with consistency in front of goal. But according to Italian football insider Fabrizio Romano, no official bid has come from Old Trafford—and wages are a major sticking point.

“A lot of people are asking whether Manchester United could jump in,” Romano said via his YouTube channel. “But I’ve heard nothing to suggest they’re pursuing this. It’s not just the €75 million fee; it’s the salary expectations.”

Osimhen currently earns around €12 million net per season at Napoli, and Galatasaray are reportedly willing to bump that to €16 million. That’s well beyond what United typically offer, especially for a new signing.

“This kind of salary doesn’t fit into Manchester United’s wage structure,” Romano added. “That’s why, for now, they’ve stayed out of the race.”

Meanwhile, Osimhen remains in limbo. Galatasaray’s latest bid was reportedly rejected by Napoli, and with pre-season already underway, he’s yet to report back to the Italian club. His next move is still unclear—and time is ticking.
