Four individuals have been sentenced to prison in connection with a violent street fight in Leicester City Centre that occurred in the early hours of November 4, 2021. The men—Destiny Ojo, Joshua Davies-Ero, Ridwanulahi Raheem, and Habib Lawal, all aged 21—were convicted of multiple charges, including violent disorder, after a six-week trial at Leicester Crown Court.
The altercation, which took place at approximately 3:00 AM GMT, involved the use of dangerous weapons such as knives, a baseball bat, and a crutch. One of the victims, an 18-year-old man at the time, sustained serious stab wounds that required hospital treatment.
Following the incident, Leicester police launched an extensive investigation, including CCTV analysis, phone tracking, and public appeals, which led to the identification of the suspects. The footage showed the men, all from London, wielding various weapons during the brawl. Davies-Ero was seen with a crutch, Ojo held a baseball bat, and Lawal and Raheem were armed with large knives.
At sentencing, Ojo received a seven-year prison term for violent disorder, attempted grievous bodily harm, and causing grievous bodily harm with intent. Lawal was sentenced to five years for similar charges, while Raheem received a three-year sentence for violent disorder and possession of a bladed article.
A fifth individual, identified as Asamoah, had already pleaded guilty to possessing a bladed article and is scheduled for sentencing.
Detective Constable Sean Downey emphasized the seriousness of the incident, noting the potential for further harm. He commended the investigative efforts that led to the identification and charging of the suspects, stating that the police are committed to ensuring public safety and will not tolerate violent behavior in the community.
