All of Ime Udoka’s travel arrangements were made with assistance from the Celtics staffer, who also occasionally oversaw travel for his fiancée, Nia Long.
One of the staff member’s responsibilities, according to sources close to the couple and the NBA club, was to arrange Udoka’s team-related travel, and we’re told she was also in charge of arranging Nia’s travel to visit Boston or to away games.
According to our sources, Nia’s decision to permanently go to Boston was influenced by the employee, which may be the most disappointing development for Nia.
The story was first reported by TMZ. With Kez, her 10-year-old kid with Ime, Nia had only recently relocated east.
The employee’s name is being kept a secret by the Celtics, but Nia reportedly knows who she is.
During a news conference on Friday, Team President Brad Stevens broke down in tears and said that all of their female employees had been particularly disturbed by the controversy because of rumors about who had an affair with Udoka.
After what the team claims were a months-long inquiry into his actions, the head coach was suspended for the whole 2022–23 season, as we’ve already reported.
