Rudy Gobert’s bizarre attack on Minnesota Timberwolves teammate Kyle Anderson during a timeout has cost the Frenchman a lot of money.
He will no longer face the Los Angeles Lakers. Despite the French center’s apology, the Minnesota Timberwolves have decided to suspend him for one game for his “unacceptable behavior,” and he will thus miss the pivotal Play-In game against the Los Angeles Lakers.
The Timberwolves, on the other hand, are hoping to have Gobert back either for the next Play-In game against the winner of the other game if they lose to the Lakers, or for the first round of the Playoffs against the Memphis Grizzlies if they beat LeBron James and company.
When Gobert assaulted Anderson during a timeout, everyone was taken aback. Anderson asked Gobert to block some shots, Gobert chastised Anderson for not grabbing rebounds, and Anderson’s response “Shut up, bitch” caused the Frenchman to erupt.
The Timberwolves have decided to sit Gobert for their next game, but he won’t be the only one. Jaden McDaniels, who smashed his hand on a wall in the tunnel, has been ruled out for the season with a fracture.
The Timberwolves’ poisoned season can only be saved by making the Playoffs, despite the fact that the atmosphere in the Minnesota team is not ideal for facing two do-or-die games.
