The National Population Commission (NPC) has warned prospective ad hoc staff for the 2023 population and housing census to be cautious and not fall victim to imposters posing as its employees.
Mr. Yemi Falusi, the NPC’s Ondo State Director, issued the warning in a statement issued on Tuesday in Akure.
Falusi stated that approval to work as ad hoc staff for the commission in the upcoming population and housing census was completely free and based on merit.
The director there urged those who had applied for positions as ad hoc staff to be cautious so that they were not duped out of their hard-earned money.

He also advised those who had fallen victim to these fraudsters and had lost varying amounts of money to report to law enforcement agents in order for those complicit in the crime to be arrested and prosecuted.
Falusi stated that the sensitization and warnings were necessary because the commission had been inundated with reports of the unscrupulous elements’ activities.
According to him, the commission’s primary responsibility is to protect its integrity and ensure that perpetrators of criminal acts in the commission’s name are brought to justice.
