‘The Little Mermaid’ synopsis
The plot of ‘The Little Mermaid’ revolves around Ariel, a beautiful young mermaid with a thirst for adventure. The youngest and most defiant of King Triton’s daughters, she seeks to learn more about the world beyond the sea and, while visiting the surface, falls in love with handsome Prince Eric. While it is forbidden for mermaids to interact with humans, Ariel must follow her heart. She strikes a bargain with the evil sea witch Ursula, who grants her the opportunity to experience life on land, putting both her life and her father’s crown in jeopardy.
The film’s cast is stacked with Hollywood heavyweights. Among those who appear are Javier Bardem (King Triton), Daveed Diggs (Sebastian), and Jonah Hauer-King (Prince Eric).
On May 26, the film will be released in theaters only, not on Disney+.
