The Zambian government has provided two aircraft to aid in the rescue and distribution of relief aid to Malawians affected by Tropical Storm Freddy.
The arrival of the planes was confirmed by the Malawi Defence Force on Thursday.
According to Col Lameck Kalenga, deputy chief of military operations, the aircraft will be deployed to hard-to-reach southern areas in Mulanje, Phalombe, and Nsanje where many people are believed to be trapped.

According to a local news outlet, disaster management officials have dispatched sniffer dogs to assist in the search for victims swept away by mudslides.
The death toll from the devastating storm rose to 326 on Thursday, with more than 200 people still missing, according to authorities.
Some communities, according to President Lazarus Chakwera, have yet to be reached.
