The three men convicted of XXXTentacion’s murder were sentenced to life in prison.
Dedrick Williams, Michael Boatwright, and Trayvon Newsome appeared in a Broward County courtroom on Thursday, where the judge sentenced them to life in prison for the rapper’s robbery and shooting death outside a South Florida motorcycle shop in 2018.
The three men, who were found guilty of first-degree murder and armed robbery last month, will not be eligible for parole or early release.
Cleopatra Bernard, XXXTentacion’s mother, responded to the sentence on Instagram. She retweeted The Shade Room’s headline and added “God is good” alongside the prayer hand emoji.

She tells TMZ that she thinks the sentence is more than fair, claiming that Boatwright taunted her throughout the trial by blowing kisses. She refers to Boatwright as “Buttright,” and says he hopes he “will now get the kiss he so desperately wants.”
“My hope for these other gentlemen is that they will retain a firm grip on the slippery soap,” she says of Newsome and Williams.

On June 18, 2018, XXXTentacion, real name Jahseh Onfroy, was shot and killed as he was leaving Riva Motorsports in Fort Lauderdale when his vehicle was blocked by an SUV. Two masked gunmen approached him and demanded money before shooting him. They made off with $50,000 in cash from X’s Louis Vuitton bag. Shortly after, the 20-year-old rapper died in the hospital.

After six days of deliberation, the jury found the three men guilty of first-degree murder and armed robbery. During the month-long trial, prosecutors used surveillance video as well as phone videos the men took to show themselves flashing cash just hours after the killing to link them to the shooting.
Last year, a fourth man, Robert Allen, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and testified against the other three. He has not yet been sentenced.
XXXTentacion’s manager, Solomon Sobande, read a statement on behalf of the family during the sentencing hearing, which mentioned the late rapper’s son, who was born after his death.
“This is a loss from which we will never truly recover,” Sobande said. “We will never see Jahseh reach his full potential, we will never see him grow old, we will never see him become a father.”
