Thabo Bester, a South African rapist, and the murderer is scheduled to appear in court on Friday after being apprehended last week in Tanzania after faking his death in prison.
According to police, Thabo Bester is facing new charges, including escaping from lawful custody and violating a dead body.
According to the police spokesperson, he will appear before the Bloemfontein magistrate court, but it is unclear whether he will appear in person.
Bester was serving a life sentence after being convicted in 2012 of raping and murdering his model girlfriend Nomfundo Tyhulu.
On Thursday, he was flown out of Tanzania in a specially chartered plane and taken to a high-security prison in Pretoria, the capital.
