The National Democratic Congress NDC student branch, the Tertiary Education Institution Network ( TEIN) has requested that President Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo- Addo start the procedures to cancel the appointment of the new Electoral commissioners, particularly Dr. Peter Appiahene.
Dr. Boosman Asare andDr. Peter Appiahene, who until their appointments served as patrons for the University of Ghana and the University of Energy and Natural Resources of the Tertiary Students Confederacy ( TESCON), respectively according to a statement released and signed by Deputy National TEIN coordinator Ekow Djan.
As stated student wing of the New Patriotic Party is politically exposed individuals who are ineligible to hold any post in the Independent Electoral Commission of Ghana.
Therefore, TEIN request that President Akufo- Addo dismiss Dr. Bossman Asare and Dr. Appaihene within the next two weeks. As we get ready for a statement protest against their appointment we have started discussing with the Ghana Police Service.
