Former flames in style! Pete Davidson and Kim Kardashian reconnected at this year’s Met Gala for some friendly banter.
The friendly ex-couples both attended the star-studded event on Monday at New York City’s Metropolitan Museum of Art and had a lively conversation with Usher.
In photos taken inside the gala, the 29-year-old former Saturday Night Live cast member and the 44-year-old “Nice & Slow” singer – both dressed in stylish tuxedos – conversed with the 42-year-old reality star.
Kardashian shone at this year’s show in an elegant Schiaparelli gown studded with over 50,000 freshwater pearls and 16,000 crystals.
Kardashian had just spent the previous two weekends in Las Vegas, enjoying Usher’s residency show, so the gala felt like a fun reunion. And Kardashian and Davidson, who dated for nine months before splitting up last August, appear to be on good terms.
Davidson and Kardashian were at the Met Gala together this time last year, when the reality star made headlines for wearing a dress famously worn by Marilyn Monroe.
The theme of this year’s Met Gala is “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty,” which honors the late designer’s entire body of work and life. The exhibition, which runs from May 5 to July 16, features 150 of Lagerfeld’s designs from Chanel, Balmain, Patou, Fendi, Chloe, and his own personal line, as well as his sketches.
When the theme was announced in September, it sparked outrage because of Lagerfeld’s alleged previous problematic comments, including one in 2009 that “no one wants to see round women.” He also stated in 2018 that he was “fed up” with the #MeToo movement.
This year’s dress code is “in honor of Karl,” and the event’s co-chairs are Michaela Coel, Penélope Cruz, Dua Lipa, tennis pro-Roger Federer, and Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour. The annual gala benefits the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.
