Kenya’s president has appointed a commission to investigate the deaths of more than 100 cult members.
They are believed to have starved themselves to death on the advice of the Good News International Church’s leader, Paul Nthenge Mackenzie.

He is expected to face terrorism charges, but no plea has been entered.
Earlier this year, the cult leader was arrested and released on bail in connection with the deaths of two children.
According to a government official, the commission of inquiry will look into whether administrative or intelligence failures played a role in the deaths.
The president has also formed a task force to review religious organization regulations.
