Throughout the weekend, rumors circulated that Chris Brown was involved in more than one altercation. The first allegation was made by Hollywood Unlocked, which claimed that the “Run It” singer got into a fight with Usher at Usher’s birthday party on Friday night (May 5). However, as previously reported by Rap-Up, the two artists were seen taking the stage at Usher’s Lovers & Friends Festival the following day during their respective time slots.
A second alleged incident occurred when video of a scuffle backstage during Missy Elliott’s set at the festival surfaced. After footage showed Brown getting caught in the crowd, he decided to clarify things by commenting on an Instagram post about the fight.
“You’ve been geeked out all weekend. “Y’all dragging it now,” he started.
The Virginia star then went on to elaborate on the situation, stating that his primary concern was his child’s safety. “There were crazed people backstage, and security was attempting to clear everyone off the stage.” People began to push back. “I intervened to inform them that MY CHILD WAS BACK THERE,” he went on. “So y’all can keep ya narrative.”

Despite the non-musical discussions that surrounded Brown over the weekend, festivalgoers said they enjoyed his performance. “He put on such a show!” one of the top comments on the official Lovers & Friends Festival Instagram post about his set reads. I keep re-watching my videos because there’s no way I could have been there.”
